Seymour, Indiana – a One-of-a-Kind Hometown!

Seymour, Indiana Launched their Hometown Collaboration initiative February 6. The meeting included 11 attendees representing a diverse array or community demographics and organizations. During the meeting, the team used a timeline ice breaker activity to explore the history of Seymour and what makes Seymour a one-of-a kind community. Here are some interesting facts about Seymour that you may not know:

  • The first train robbery in the world happened in Seymour.
  • Tuskegee Airmen trained and flew out of Seymour for a number of years.
  • Jackson County Bank, a staple partner, was founded and 1900 and is still going strong.
  • Oktoberfest, a favorite community event, began in 1972 to lift spirits during economic hardships
