PCRD received exciting news in late September from the Chicago Office of the Economic Development Administration (EDA). It was officially notified that it was again selected to serve as Indiana’s EDA University Center (EDA UC). The five-year award will allow the center to continue to work with the Indiana Association of Regional Councils and other regional economic development groups across the state. One of the important additions to the EDA UC is the partnership that PCRD has now established with Ball State University. Both universities will work hand-in-hand in pursuing the major goals of the new EDA UC.
The EDA UC priorities that Ball State and PCRD will pursue are fourfold: (1) Build and Sustain Vibrant Local and Regional Collaborations; (2) Expand the Suite of Innovative Data Tools for Advancing Local and Regional Planning; (3) Strengthen the Connection of Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses to their Region’s Innovation Clusters; and (4) Explore the Talent Needs of Regional Innovation Clusters and Enhance the Talent Pipeline of the Indiana Association of Regional Councils (IARC) and Economic Development Organizations (EDDs).
