Jennifer Helfrich is a program manager for the Purdue Center for Regional Development (PCRD), joining the staff in 2014. Jennifer manages all aspects of the Hometown Collaboration Initiative, a community-development program that is sponsored by the Lieutenant Governor and the Office of Community and Rural Affairs. She also is responsible for managing aspects of several other Center initiatives - including the Economic Gardening Program and the Targeted Business Retention and Expansion Program.
Jennifer holds a B.S. degree in environmental and ecological engineering, a minor in political science, and had an undergraduate educational focus on developing sustainable communities. She is a certified associate in project management (CAPM) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is currently pursuing a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
Prior to her work at PCRD, Jennifer worked as a sustainability engineer for an Indianapolis-based firm, where her job duties included writing grant applications for communities and performing in depth data analysis. Jennifer has a particular passion for helping communities improve their triple bottom line (environmental, economic and social capital).
