Andrey Zhalnin is a GIS/data analyst for the Purdue Center for Regional Development, joining the staff in 2011. Andrey uses a variety of GIS and statistical tools to analyze spatial patterns in land cover, demography, economy and natural resources data. He received his B.S. in Biology from Kharkov State University, Ukraine. He also holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Forestry and Natural Resources from Purdue University. His major interest now is the development of an online interactive decision support system to assist various groups and communities in regional planning.
