Indiana - HomeTown Competitiveness Project
The Indiana - HomeTown Competitiveness (Indiana - HTC) project harnesses the power of RISE (Rural Indiana Strategy for Excellence) 2020 with the nationally recognized community development program entitled HomeTown Competitiveness. Partners collaborating on the project’s leadership team include: Ball State’s “Building Better Communities Program”, Indiana Grantmakers Alliance, Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs, Indiana Rural Development Council, Purdue Center for Regional Development/Purdue Extension Service and USDA-Rural Development.
The Indiana - HTC project helps communities focus on building community capacity in four areas:
- Mobilizing local leaders and building community civic capacity
- Energizing local entrepreneurs to build a strong economy
- Capturing wealth transfer to raise development dollars
- Attracting young people to strengthen community demographics
