Using Indiana’s University Center Program to Stimulate Regional Cooperation and Collaboration, Enhance Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Grow the Economy

Program Focus:

  • Stimulate awareness and action in support of regional planning, development, and collaboration
  • Enhance entrepreneurship, innovation, and an entrepreneurial culture
  • Enhance the efficiency, profitability and growth potential of existing firms
  • Assist communities experiencing plant closures

The University Center is focused is focused on areas of technical assistance, applied research and dissemination of information not readily accessible, filling a void within Indiana’s economic development efforts. Through collaboration and partnering with other service providers, the University Center is able to leverage its efforts. Examples of organizations and agencies partnering with the University Center include, but is not limited to, the Indiana Association of Regional Councils, Purdue Extension Service, the Small Business Development Centers, the Indiana Rural Development Council, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, and many others.

The approximate distribution by source of funds are:

  • Technical assistance - 60%
  • Applied Research - 30%
  • Dissemination - 10%
